Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. It’s been a dreary Monday, but I’m in good spirits anyhow after a fun weekend in Frederick filled with lots of delicious food and beautiful scenery. As usual, I’m behind on all things blogging (and life in general) but hope to make progress with photo editing this week and get to some great posts! 6th Annual Rum Day DC
Rum Day DC is back for its sixth year with “Rum This Block” on Sunday, August 13th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Whitman Walker parking lot on 14th Street. The boozy event will feature some of DC’s top mixologists, unlimited cocktails and unlimited BBQ from Federalist Pig. You can expect lots of games, water guns, and activities to keep the party going. Tickets are $30.
Sakurem Turns One
Sakerum is celebrating their first birthday this month and they’re celebrating with specials throughout August. Enjoy a round of complimentary Sakerum punch for your table when you make a reservation through August 31st. The restaurant is also offering 15% off pickup orders of $55 or more.
Patio Pig Roast at Brasserie Beck
Join Brasserie Beck this Saturday, August 12th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for a Patio Pig Roast. Enjoy all you can eat slow roasted suckling pig and porchettas, macaroni au gratin, ratatouille, Parker house rolls, watermelon salad and seasonal accoutrements for $42. Wash it down with $20 bottles of wine and $5 Wittekerke drafts. These specials are only available with a reservation.
Create a Brunch Masterpiece with Via Umbria
Head to Via Umbria on Tuesday, August 8th 7:30 p.m. as butcher Scott Weiss leads a class on creating a masterful brunch display without breaking a sweat. The delicious class will cover everything from smoked salmon and charcuterie to ’njuda and speck. Snack on tasty bites as you create your own DIY charcuterie board. By the end of the night you will be able to confidently and easily prepare a Pinterest worthy brunch that will surprise and satisfy your friends and family. Tickets are $35.
