Time to start another week – hopefully on the right foot. We had a lot of fun events and dinners last week. We especially enjoyed cruising the Potomac on Saturday for my company’s summer work party. It was such a beautiful morning, and always a pleasure to be out on the water.
Pups on the Patio at Silver
Dog lovers listen up! Silver is starting their new Pups on the Patio happy hours every Thursday with menu specials and pet friendly giveaways. Guests can enjoy drinks, appetizers and dinner with their furry best friends outside on Silver’s patio.In addition, there will be drink specials and surprises for the pups attending. Some of the proceeds from each Pups on the Patio event will benefit area dog rescue groups. Special guests including dog trainers and pet boutiques will be in attendance. The weekly event begins Thursday, June 29 and will run through Thursday, September 28th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Sweet Escape Summer Camp at The Conche
Is your child a foodie in training? Celebrity Chef Santosh Tiptur of newly-opened chocolate-themed restaurant and bar The Conche will be offering a hands-on three-day summer confection camp with sessions available beginning in July and running through the end of August. Priced at $250 per child for children ages 8-16 years of age, and hosting camp sessions for between 8-12 campers at a time, The Conche’s ‘Sweet Escape Summer Confection Camp for Kids’ will take place from 9am to noon each day for three consecutive days. Camp attendees will enjoy a hands-on experience learning a different culinary lesson each day including how to make artisan chocolates, decadent desserts, and custom chocolate sculptures for each camper all under the guidance of award-winning master Pastry Chef Santosh Tiptur. Chocolate and confection-loving campers will also enjoy both lunch and desserts each day. Camp will take place in The Conche’s state of the art 300 square foot ‘Chocolate Lab’. Drink Deals at Proper 21
If you’re looking to imbibe on a budget, Proper 21 is the place. Head to the hopping sports bar on Tuesdays for half price bottles of rosé all day, with purchase of food. Nats fans without tickets to the game should stop by as well for $4 Miller Lites and $5 Fireball shots. Be sure to order the fries while you’re there.
