We’re back from our road trip! We had such a fun time exploring four states and spending time with friends and family. Gourmet Symphony’s Oktoberfest Celebration
Join Gourmet Symphony for its second annual Oktoberfest celebration on Thursday, October 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. The event features Bavarian-style street foods, a new seasonal beer, wine tastings, and festive music. Costumes and festival attire are strongly encouraged. Each $39 ticket includes live chamber music by Barclay Brass, a pretzel and soup station, passed small plates, Festbier by Atlas Brew Works, wine tastings and entry into the costume contest.
Check, Please! DC Premiere
Check, Please! DC premieres Wednesday, October 18th at 8 p.m. on WETA TV 26 & HD. The series gives viewers an unfiltered look at the Greater Washington restaurant scene through a panel of citizen reviewers sharing their favorite eateries and dining experiences. In each episode, three guests each recommend one dining spot for review by the other two guests. After anonymously trying each restaurant recommendation, the guests join the show’s host in-studio to discuss their experiences together. Spanning the entire District-Maryland-Virginia area, Check, Please! DC covers a wide array of establishments and cuisines from the region’s diverse offerings. Season 1 takes viewers on a journey of culinary discovery, featuring everything from Laotian “jungle” cuisine to old-fashioned comfort food.
Israel Dinner Kapnos Kouzina
Experience the rich history of Israeli wine with a special dinner at Kapnos Kouzina on October 17th. The five-course meal features a selection of wines from Bethlehem, Galilee and other regions of Israel, paired with fall dishes from chef de cuisine Katarina Famoso. The evening also includes interactive discussion about Israel’s wine culture as well as the featured pours and dish pairings. Seats are $95 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
Gentle Harvest One-Year Anniversary Party
Gentle Harvest will celebrate their one year anniversary on Saturday, October 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Open to all ages, the party will include a meet and greet with the Ayrshire Farm Shire horses and face painting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m and live music and product tastings from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The anniversary cake cutting will take place at 1:30 p.m. This event will be held rain or shine.
