It’s Monday. It’s hot. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a great week ahead. Here are our B.S. Best Bets for the week!
Bid Ripple a Fond Farewell
Ripple shared the sad news last week via an email newsletter that they’ll be closing later this month, despite recent critical acclaim, due to “the reality of a slowing business”. We’ve long been fans of the Cleveland Park restaurant and are sad to see them go. Cleveland Park has seen a number of quality restaurants close in recent years, and this latest loss is a great one. This is a reminder to continue to support your favorite local businesses and restaurants so that they can continue to do what they do best. Be sure to stop in to Ripple for a final meal or two before their final dinner service on Saturday, June 24th.
Summer Wine School at DCanter Wine
Get ready for a proper education on one of our favorite subjects – wine! DCanter Wines is kicking off their Summer Wine School series for the second year in a row. For those just getting into wine, try one of the introductory classes that occur every Wednesday night during the summer. Looking for something more in depth? There are a number of classes that focus on specific regions, grape types, and wine styles. Attend any three classes during the months of June, July, and August, and you will receive a free copy of The Wine Bible to continue your lifelong learning. Cheers to that!
Friday Night Concerts are Back at Navy Yard
It’s no secret that we think Friday nights in Navy Yard are the best! Although we don’t live in the area anymore, we can’t wait to go back this summer for live music, food and those awesome river views. Head to Yards Park this Friday to catch a night of free jazz, part of the annual DC Jazz Fest featuring Ola Onabulé and Lori Williams. There will be food trucks and alcohol for purchase, and be sure to check out some of the fabulous restaurants in Navy Yard after the show.
