Happy Monday everyone! I hope you’re all feeling fine. It’s moving week for us, at last. We spent the weekend packing up our apartment, and it still seems like there’s so much to do. But I’m excited to settle into our new place and get everything set up!
Since it’s our last week in Navy Yard, we’re hoping to get around to some of our favorite places one more time before we leave, and take as many walks around the neighborhood as we can. For those lucky enough not to be moving right now, here are a few more festive things going on around town.
2941 “Ladies of the Vine” Wine Dinner
If you’re really looking to impress your Valentine, but want to avoid the holiday crowds, this event is exactly what you need. 2941 restaurant in Falls Church is hosting a one-of-kind “Ladies of the Vine” five-course wine dinner on Sunday, February 19th. Chef Bertrand Chemel is in charge of the menu, which will be paired with these special wines. Guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary wine tasting at the bar prior to dinner, and bottles of the wine featured at the dinner will be available for purchase. Seatings are available from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are priced at $159 per person, all-inclusive. For reservations or additional information, visit www.2941.com or call (703) 270-1500. Reservations and a $25 deposit are required to attend.
Ice Cream Jubilee
Think outside the chocolate box. Give your love an at-home sundae party from Ice Cream Jubilee in Navy Yard. For $29, you get two pints of ice cream, two chocolate walnut cookies, hot fudge and caramel sauces, sugar cones and sprinkles. Now that’s a Happy Valentine’s Day.
SEOULSPICE Gluten Free Tasting
SEOULSPICE is hosting a gluten-free tasting event tonight, February 13th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 ($40 for 2) and include samples of SEOULSPICE’s bibimbap bowls, Korean wine and soju cocktails tastings, pastries from Rise Bakery, Greenheart Juice Shop cold-pressed juices, happy hour cocktails, a kimchi making demo and more. Those who attend will also receive 20% off at SEOULSPICE, Rise Bakery, and Greenheart through the rest of February.
Our recent trip to Virginia wine country has me lusting over more wine-driven travel. I’m thinking a trip to upstate New York would be perfect. In a DC Minute has a list of seven wineries everyone should visit on the Niagara Wine Trail.
We keep adding to the list of restaurants we need to try once we move to Petworth, and Little Coco’s is toward the top of the list. Thanks to Bitches Who Brunch, I know what to wear when we’re able to make a trip.
